BUFFALO, N.Y. — Just hours before the Sabres were set to face the Florida Panthers on Thursday, the team announced that goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is out day to day with a lower-body injury.
Luukkonen was a participant in morning skate on Thursday and was expected to be the starter for the team's game against Florida.
The team has recalled Dustin Tokarski from Rochester to backup Eric Comrie and has placed forward Jack Quinn on Injured Reserve in a corresponding move.
In 16 games with the Americans this season, Tokarski has posted a 7-7-2 record so far this season. At the NHL level, he has a 3.15 save percentage, a .902 goals-against average, and two shutouts.
