Sabres place Eric Comrie on waivers

Comrie has appeared in seven games for Buffalo this season.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Sabres announced on Sunday that the team has placed goaltender Eric Comrie on waivers, putting an end to the team's three-goalie rotation. 

Comrie appeared in seven games for the Sabres this season, earning a .863 save percentage and averaging 4.01 goals against.

In a corresponding move, Zemgus Girgensons will be activated from injured reserve and is expected to return to the lineup after sitting out 17 games due to a lower-body injury. 

Buffalo will utilize Devon Levi and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen as their two goaltenders from here forward. If Comrie clears waivers, he will be assigned to the team's AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans.

Throughout his career, Comrie has played in 54 games at the NHL level, posting a .893 save percentage and averaging 3.40 goals against.
