BUFFALO, N.Y. — As the Sabres come off a 3-2 shootout win against his former team, Buffalo may be without one of their leading scorers for the time being.
Jeff Skinner participated in practice on Monday before exiting the session early due to an apparent injury.
Head coach Don Granato told the media following practice that the forward had imaging done to determine the extent of his injury.
“We are getting some imaging on him right now to find out and make certain that everything is OK,” Granato said. “We obviously have to do that before we fly out (to Florida), so we figured we’d do that based on how he felt this morning."
As a precaution, the team has recalled forward Tyson Jost from Rochester.
Jost has 13 points in 23 total games since he was assigned to the Americans in December. In 29 games played for the Sabres this year, Jost has tallied four points.
Buffalo heads to Florida on Tuesday as they begin a two-game road trip against the Panthers at 7 p.m.
