6 Sabres competing at ice hockey world championship

The 2024 IIHF World Championship event is underway in Czechia. Six Sabres are on teams competing in a tournament that began May 10 and runs through May 26.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The regular season ended weeks ago, but some Buffalo Sabres are still out on the ice.

The 2024 IIHF World Championship event is underway in Czechia. Six Sabres are on teams competing in a tournament that began May 10 and runs through May 26.

Dylan Cozens, Owen Power, and Bowen Byram are on the Team Canada roster. Rasmus Dahlin and Victor Olofsson are competing for Sweden, and JJ Peterka is skating with Germany.

Peterka stood out at last year's tournament, where he was named the top forward for Germany, which won the silver. The gold medal-winning team was Canada, which had Jack Quinn, Peyton Krebs, and Devon Levi.
