ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Josh Allen loves to wear unique helmets at the Bills' annual Blue and Red practice.
The beloved quarterback wore a red helmet when he raced out of the tunnel in 2022. He donned a blue helmet when he took the field at Highmark Stadium during last year's event.
True to form, he switched it up again Friday evening. Allen wore a black helmet, with a classic red Bills logo and a single red stripe down the middle. The helmet also included a visor, the same as in years past.
Many teams across the NFL have announced new or throwback jerseys and helmets as training camps started to open. The Bills are not among those teams, at least at the moment.
The Bills open their three-game preseason schedule at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 10 at Highmark Stadium against the Chicago Bears, and they will most likely be wearing their traditional white helmets.
The Bills later posted a video on social media, capturing responses from coaches and players to the helmet.
