CORFU, N.Y. — Police and Fire in Genesee County have responded to a report of a train derailment at the Fargo Road railroad crossing in Corfu.
Pictures from the scene show at least two boxcars are off the tracks.
At this time, there are no report of injuries.
The Fire Coordinator with Genesee County Tim Yeager spoke with media on scene and said four cars carrying trailers were involved. The crossings from Snipery Road to Townline Road is expected be closed for about two days.
Yeager also said that a preliminary investigation is indicating a mechanical failure, but further investigation is still needed. CSX will be conducting an investigation and inspection of the rails involved.
