The owner believes two goats and a dozen chickens were killed in the fire.

WHEATFIELD, N.Y. — An investigation is underway to determine what caused an early-morning garage fire in the Town of Wheatfield.

Crews responded to a 911 call just after 4 a.m. Sunday, of smoke coming from a detached garage on Ward Road.

The fire was quickly put out, but the owner of the home told Niagara County Sheriff's Deputies that two goats and twelve chickens died in the fire.
