Volunteers help decorate homes for City of Light

B Team Buffalo will decorate homes in the Walden-Sycamore neighborhood for the holidays

BUFFALO, N.Y. — B Team Buffalo kicked off its annual City of Light event Saturday.

Over 150 volunteers decorated more than 50 homes in the Walden-Sycamore neighborhood.

"The idea is to provide holiday cheer to an underserved neighborhood and come together as a true City of Good Neighbors," Tara Kennedy said in a statement.

Kennedy is the chair of B Team Buffalo and helps oversee the organization of this event every year.

The event also featured a carnival for kids and tree lighting with carolers.

The carnival portion began at 9 a.m. with games and toys for children at Harvey Austin Elementary. Free lunch for the community was served from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

The tree lighting began at noon and was free to attend.
