EAST PEMBROKE, N.Y. — Icy roads may have played a role in an accident in Genesee County.
A car and an SUV collided head on on West Main Street in East Pembroke just after 7 a.m. Tuesday.
The accident caused the SUV to roll over into a ditch. The only person inside the SUV, Patricia Dzienciol of Akron, was taken to ECMC and later died.
Three people were in the other vehicle. A backseat passenger was ejected from the vehicle. All three were taken to the hospital.
"When I got here, I panicked a little bit," said East Pembroke Fire Chief Don Newton. "You obviously hear the call and get here as quick as you can. This actually happened right in front of my fire hall. So, I did know I was going to have man power at that time."
Police are still investigating.
