AMHERST, N.Y. — Amherst Fire investigators are looking into the cause of a fire that damaged three homes overnight.
Firefighters were called to 210 Windermere Boulevard just after 2 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a vehicle fire.
Amherst Police had arrived on scene first, followed by Eggertsville Fire Chief, who say the fire had spread to the garage and was working its way to the house and two other homes.
Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within about a half hour.
There was $230,000 in damage to the home at 210 Windermere. Neighboring homes at 216 Windermere and 243 Capen Boulevard were also involved, but fire officials did not say if how the fire damaged their homes.
Eggertsville Hose Company said that power in the Windermere and adjacent neighborhoods has been interrupted as a main power line was damaged during the fire.
