Black Angus cow shot, killed in Chautauqua County

BUSTI, N.Y. — The Lakewood-Busti Police Department is looking for help after a black Angus cow was shot and killed earlier this month.

According to police, the cow's owner heard gunshots from an area near the pasture in the Chautauqua County town's Five Corners area. The cow was found on the landowner's pasture, along with its newborn calf, which was also found dead. The cause of the calf's death was not given.

Lakewood-Busti Police took the report on May 8, but the shooting is believed to have happened before then.

The incident took place on Donelson Road in the Town of Busti.
